What is a QR Code?

A QR Code, which stands for "Quick Response", is a two-dimensional version of a barcode, typically made up of black and white pixel patterns. While they may look simple, QR codes are capable of storing lots of data. When scanned, the QR code allows the user to access information instantly.

QR codes have become very popular over recent years within the marketing and advertising industry. They are liked for their simple ability to connect users with information quickly and accurately.

They can be used with various mobile device operating systems. iPhones running on iOS 11 and higher and some Android devices can natively scan QR codes without downloading an external app. The camera app is able to scan the QR code and display the link or action associated with it.
